Music series a success in spite of pandemic

Simpsonville, S.C. — The Elvis Tribute concert scheduled for tonight at the CCNB Amphitheatre at Heritage Park has been canceled due to a forecast of possible inclement weather.

Although the Simpsonville Summer Music Series & Food Truck Rodeo ends on a rainy note, the 2020 season of the music series remained a success in the face of Novel Coronavirus Disease 2019, a global pandemic that has continued to spread across the country since the first of the year. The City of Simpsonville, Simpsonville Arts Foundation, Inc., series sponsor Countybank and artists worked together to ensure residents of and visitors to Simpsonville could enjoy outdoor entertainment.

Despite delaying the music series and canceling one month of shows, the City and SAFI adapted by moving the concerts from the smaller Hendricks Pavilion Amphitheatre to the CCNB Amphitheatre, the size of which allows for better social distancing and a higher number of attendees. Parks & Recreation staff made the move possible by designating seating areas for families, couples and individual groups to sit six feet apart.

The City of Simpsonville and SAFI would like to thank Countybank for its sponsorship, Mad Cuban & Tacos & Bla Bla Bla for their delicious food, all the artists who participated and the thousands of residents of and visitors to Simpsonville for coming out. May you be safe and healthy for the rest of 2020, and we'll see you next summer in 2021!
